2. Plasmodium vivax (P. vivax): This malaria parasite is less severe than Plasmodium falciparum. however, it can stay longer in the liver, this parasite is mostly found in South America and Asia respectively.
3. Plasmodium Ovale: (P.Ovale): This can stay much longer in the liver than Plasmodium vivax without causing symptoms.
It is found more in West Africa and relatively uncommon.
4. Plasmodium knowlesi (P. knowlesi): This species is not common and they can be found in some parts of Southeast Asia.
5. Plasmodium malariae (P. Malariae): This plasmodium genus is rare. they are usually found in Africa.

This is the most preferred effective first-line malaria treatment.
- quinine sulfate
- mefloquine
- primaquine phosphate
- Malarone
